The farm operations manager at Summit Agricultural Group, Robin Sampson has been with Summit since 2011. She directs the beef and row crop operations teams in our Iowa and Nebraska facilities, along with handling general purchasing, heading Summit’s safety program, coordinating employee training, as well as budget accountability. Her prior experience includes twelve years at Cargill as commercial manager in the Oilseed division, purchasing for Heartland Pork, and managing corn origination for Hawkeye Renewable ethanol plant locations across Iowa. She grew up in the grain business in Temperance, Michigan, and is a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in food marketing.
As the business development manager at Summit Agricultural Group, Mitch Baum’s responsibilities include land acquisitions, sales and trades; livestock facility development and contract management; internship recruiting; and operational support. Prior to joining the team at Summit in 2005, he worked with Smithfield Foods as a territory manager for Murphy-Brown, LLC in Iowa and Illinois. Mitch was raised in Henry County, Illinois, on a grain and livestock farm, and later attended Iowa State University majoring in agriculture business. He has two sons, Jake and Tom, who share his passion for agriculture and the outdoors. Mitch is a past president and trustee of the Iowa 4-H Foundation Board.
Ethan Wise is the Iowa row crop production manager at Summit Agricultural Group. He joined the Summit team as a row crop intern in 2012, transitioning to assistant row crop manager in 2013 and attaining his current position in 2014. Ethan grew up on a diversified row crop and dairy farm in Decorah, Iowa. He has a degree in agronomy from Iowa State University.
Adrian Meyer is the cattle feedlot manager for Summit Agricultural Group. Prior to joining Summit in 2013, he managed a 5,200 head feedlot in Nevada, Iowa. He attended Iowa State University for agricultural studies and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for its feed yard management internship program. He was raised in Washington, Iowa. Adrian is Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) certified and has served on the Beef Quality Assurance Advisory Committee.
Brian Schreck is the facilities and maintenance manager at Summit Agricultural Group. He oversees all livestock confinements, and directs all maintenance, capital improvements, grounds-keeping and environmental operations. Part of the Summit team since 2005, Brian brings twenty-five years’ experience in agricultural management, transportation and maintenance. A native of Guthrie Center, Iowa, Brian now resides in Ames with his wife and two sons.
