We have established a successful track record from operation to operation by applying our expertise in complementary niches and spearheading it all with an entrepreneurial spirit. The list below summarizes our current portfolio and also some of the investments which were previously led by Summit Group’s founders and investment team.

 

Current Projects

  • Summit Farms, LLC is a diversified farming operation based near Alden Iowa. Encompassing several aspects of the agricultural industry, Summit Farms is currently involved in row crop, pork and beef production as well as purebred Charolais cattle and draft horse operations. Summit Farms prides itself on modern, advanced farming practices producing trend setting yields while utilizing intensive agricultural and conservation practices to ensure success in the coming years while maintaining our obligation to the environment.

  • Summit Ag Fund provides the opportunity for investors to make direct investments in agricultural real estate with the confidence that their investment will be managed by proven financial leaders in the agribusiness sector. Summit Ag Fund strives to provide superior risk adjusted investment returns through current income via cash rents and land value appreciation.

  • AgriSol Energy, LLC is an innovative investment company providing expertise to create agricultural businesses in underdeveloped global locations that have attractive natural resources but lack best-in-class agricultural technology, farming techniques, equipment and management. AgriSol Energy’s strategy is to partner with national, regional and local governments, business leaders and communities to develop modern, sustainable and profitable agricultural enterprises that result in increased food, energy and economic security.

  • American Heartland Development is an active wind development company focused on working with local Iowa and Midwest farmers.

  • The Rastetter Foundation was founded by Bruce Rastetter and is focused on educational and agricultural philanthropic pursuits. Past gifts include donations to the University of Iowa, Iowa State University, University of Northern Iowa, the Iowa Foundation of Agriculture Advancement and many more.

Previous Projects

  • Iowa Winds was a development primarily in Franklin County, Iowa that was purchased and developed as the Whispering Willows Winds Farm by Alliant Energy in 2007.

  • With Bruce Rastetter serving as Founding CEO, Hawkeye Energy Holdings grew to become the second largest pure-play ethanol producer in the country before its sale to Flint Hills Resources in 2010.

  • Heartland Pork grew out of three separate businesses – feed management, building construction and swine production – into one business enterprise. Heartland grew to become the 13th largest pork producer in the United States. In 2004, the company was acquired by Christensen Farms. The resulting company became the 4th largest pork producer in the United States.
