Rastetter Announces Support for President Trump
January 13, 2024
Today, Iowa businessman and philanthropist Bruce Rastetter announced his endorsement of Donald J. Trump for President.
Rastetter said, “No other candidate in the race has done more for the agriculture industry than President Donald Trump. Iowans know where he stands on the issues that matter most to us, and he has a proven record of boosting ag markets and supporting biofuels. President Trump hasn't just said the right things on ag and energy policy- he's done them by expanding and extending the 45Q program, and being a vocal supporter of year-round E15."
Rastetter continues, “As pressures mount for farmers from the evolving global economy, Iowa and America needs a fierce defender of our industry and there’s no one more equipped than Donald Trump. He has my full support.”
Rastetter is the Founder & Executive Chairman of Summit Agricultural Group. Rastetter has founded a number of agribusiness companies, including Heartland Pork, a Midwestern pork production company, Hawkeye Renewables, which became one of the country’s largest pure-play corn-based ethanol producers, and FS Bioenergia, a Brazilian low-carbon biofuels and energy platform that produces the most corn ethanol in South America.
He has served on a variety of Boards, including the American Agriculture and Energy Council, AltEnergy, Cultivation Corridor, Iowa Premium Beef, and Iowa Renewable Fuels Association, among others. He was also president of the Iowa Board of Regents.
Former Trump Administration official and Iowan Matt Whitaker thanked Rastetter for his support.
“When it comes to innovation, strategic business decisions, and being true leader in American agriculture, Bruce Rastetter is unmatched,” said Whitaker. “Bruce’s support is reflective of why many Iowans stand with Pres. Trump – he has had the backs of Iowa farmers and the agriculture industry and he will continue to do so when he’s re-elected.”
